The Ithaca Youth Bureau has served Ithaca's Youth for 60 years by providing a wide variety of recreation programs and youth services to promote health, happiness and well-being. There are 7,500 Ithaca area youth and their families who are served annually. Program areas include: sports leagues and lessons, expressive arts programs, summer day camps, after school programs, recreation support services, an outdoor adventure program,jobs and employment training for teens, a computer recycling program, a Big Brother/Big Sister program, tutoring and academic support, a stay and play program for tots, and sponsorship of community events. In addition, the IYB manages Cass Park, a municipal park featuring a picnic pavilion, two play grounds, 21 athletic fields, an outdoor aquatics center featuring Olympic and kiddie sized swimming pools, a skating rink and a two mile waterfront recreation trail. The IYB is committed to recruiting a diverse workforce and providing a respectful, inclusive environment where youth, families and staff can thrive. The Youth Bureau programs depend on the help of dozens of parents, guardians, and other volunteers willing to share their time and interest with youth.
